Securities America Advisors Inc.

Securities America Advisors, Inc. is a Securities and Exchange Commission Registered (SEC) Investment Advisor. With over $13 billion (as of 11/09) of assets under management and administration, Securities America Advisors, Inc. provides investment management, financial advice, and financial planning through advisors nationwide. Working closely with Securities America Advisors, you and your financial advisor can develop a personalized investment program. Whether you are looking for turnkey solutions or something customized to your unique situation, Securities America Advisors is there to help your advisor meet your needs. We offer you flexibility and expert support, but you and your advisor remain in control of your financial choices.

As of the end of 2009, Securities America Advisors, Inc., the advisory division of the family of companies and sister company to Securities America Inc., had over $13.9 billion in assets under management, a 33 percent increase over 2008. In 2009, Securities America's advisors raised over $1.5 billion in net new fee-based assets - almost double the amount of new assets collected in 2008. This is largely due to the flexibility of Securities America's fee-based advisory programs.

Programs offered to investment advisor representatives for use helping clients with planning and investing include Securities America's flagship program Managed Opportunities. Managed Opportunities is a state-of-the-art fee-based wrap program that gives advisors immediate access to money managers employing both mutual fund asset allocation strategies (18 managers) and separate account portfolios (36 managers) - all in a single platform. Advisors and clients have 24/7 online access to their account information, including holdings, transactions, tax lot accounting and on-demand performance reporting. We also offer Managed Opportunities for Qualified Plans, a turnkey 401(k) program giving plan sponsors access to separately managed accounts for 401(k) participants.

Today, more investors recognize that the companies they invest in can significantly impact the world's sustainability challenges, and they want to align their investments in this way. In 2010, we've added a Socially Responsible Investing overlay to Managed Opportunities that allows advisors to apply 17 different filters like "protection of the environment" to client's investment selections.

Managed Opportunities Advisor Directed gives advisors the best of both worlds, accessing third-party money managers and integrating those accounts with accounts they manage themselves.

Managed Opportunities NextPhase™ is a fully integrated solution for income distribution planning, portfolio management and reporting. This solution is a more efficient way for advisors to implement a time-segmented distribution strategy and then track and manage the investments over the client's lifetime. It combines the best marketing tools and the option to use one of two excellent planning/proposal systems with proven implementation and monitoring systems into a single, seamless package. Reporting function ties back to proposal.

Based on advisor feedback, we are working on further enhancements to the NextPhase™ Income Distribution application, including the ability to produce an income proposal prior to identifying the investment solutions and the ability to automatically update values on NextPhase™ assets not on the Managed Opportunities platform (off-platform assets).

The Managed Opportunities Unified Account will be added in 2010. This program will allow advisors to allocate client's investments among multiple separate account wrap or mutual fund wrap portfolios in one brokerage account, eliminating the need for multiple accounts and higher administrative fees. Additionally, based on advisor feedback, we are working on further enhancements to the NextPhase™ Income Distribution application, including the ability to produce an income proposal prior to identifying the investment solutions and the ability to automatically update values on NextPhase™ assets not on the Managed Opportunities platform (off-platform assets).

Securities America's Financial Advisor Program (FAP) allows advisors to apply their own portfolio management skills and leave the back office administration like billing and generating performance reports to Securities America Financial Corporation. Advisors can place a wide variety of investments in this program as long as the investments are consistent with their client's investment policy statement.

Securities America Advisor's IMAP allows advisors to use professional, independent asset managers that are not on the Managed Opportunities platform. A list of approved money managers is available via our website. Money managers establish their own fee schedule and share a portion of the fee with the advisor.
